About Us

Ray of Hope People (ROHP) – also known in Tamil as நம்பிக்கை ஒளி (Nam-Bekai Oli) – is a registered charity in England and Wales, founded by the Tamil community in the UK. Established in the aftermath of the Sri Lankan civil war in 2009, ROHP was created to provide urgent relief to families left destitute and without support. Since then, it has grown into a global humanitarian organisation, connecting communities across the world to bring hope and practical support to vulnerable people. We work with local and international charities, NGOs, and community partners to deliver sustainable projects that transform lives.
At ROHP, we believe every person deserves the opportunity to live with dignity, independence, and hope for a brighter future.

To create a world where vulnerable communities affected by conflict, poverty, and natural disasters are empowered to live with dignity, independence, and hope for a sustainable future.

To provide humanitarian relief and support to individuals and families in Sri Lanka, India, and beyond, helping them rebuild their lives after hardship.
To promote education, vocational training, and entrepreneurship among disadvantaged children, youth, women, and people with disabilities.
To support sustainable community development projects, including housing, farming, and access to clean water.
To connect Tamil and wider communities across the globe in solidarity, fostering compassion, inclusion, and collective action for social good.
To work with international charities, NGOs, and local partners to deliver effective, lasting impact.
